Hey, look, it's Blink.

Well...it's a trailer, at least. It does it's most basic job of telling us a movie is coming out next year. Doesn't do much to actually sell us on it, even though it's trying SO HARD with it's epic music and it's emotional one-liners.

Boy are you guys in for a surprise. Scott and I have been working on a script for Hipster Daken for most of tonight, for him to do on the next Merc with a Podcast.

My favorite part was the end, cause I woke up, cause it bored me to sleep, twice.

My biggest gripe is, oh hey look at the future X-Men, well we will see them for 9 min, then back to the 70's for the whole fucking film for adventures with First Class for 2 hours and 36 min.

Yeah I'm not that impressed. I'm sorry. I think Singer is a lousy director, and it still shows here. The most I got choked up in this trailer was when I was snoring during it.

Looks better than First Class, but then so does the diapers Corwin is changing for his kid. So yeah my overall opinion;

Geez. I thought I was supposed to be the negative one around here. I liked First Class quite a lot though, so what the hell do I know.

Yeah, I think reshoots are becoming a more common thing, so it's hard to gauge if this is a bad thing or not. I believe it was Bleeding Cool that showed that the guy who plays Colossus was talking about it, so unless the story suddenly got a big Colossus sub-plot, I'm thinking that FOX gauged there was more interest in the future/alternate present X-Men, so they're going to shoot more of that stuff.

I was talking about this at my day job. Here's what non comic fans had to say?

So wait is this time travel or flashbacks?
Are those other guys (Blink, Bishop) bad guys or X-Men?
Who is Peter suppose to be? Is he a bad guy, or a good guy?
Why aren't the Avengers in this? They're both Marvel right.
Look rather boring. A lot of talking. Is that all the X-Men do?
What's the threat. I just see people standing around and no plot.
And my favorite, Is Loki in this?

So I agree I think non X-Film and comic fans are going to be a hard sell for this. I on the other hand am looking forward to it but don't have high expectations. I'm thinking B-. Biggest disappointment, no Sentinels in the trailers.

All I know is reshoots in Canada mean more money for Canada. Yay, Canada!

So Fox just released another viral campaign (really studios are still doing this?).



On the one hand, I think it's cool that they are injecting some more history into the films.

On the other hand (and this isn't First Class bashing), this is some really bad timing to release this campaign in particular. Sure on paper it sounds like a great to tie this in on the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination. But really it FUCKING TASTELESS. Hey a great tragedy for America happen on this days years ago, NOW SEE OUR MOVIE!! IT WILL BLOW YOUR BRAIN!!

Lets just hope New Line doesn't release a trailer for Ex Machina on 9/11 one of these days.
