The Good: Wolverine and the X-Men, X-Factor, Atonishing X-Men, X-Men. Also Ultimate Comics X-Men ia good but it's its own universe.

Meh: X-Men: Legacy, Uncanny X-Force

Shitacular: New Mutants, Uncanny X-Men, Age of Apocalypse

Buy: Uncanny X-Force, Wolverine & the X-Men.

Borrow: X-Factor, X-Men Legacy leaning closer to a pass then a buy.

Pass: Every thing else is garbage.

To me the X-men feels like it doesn't no where it wants to go. & maybe/hopefully after this new crossover it will establish what they want to do. But sadly probably not.

Rob and Brian, and the rest of the readership, seem to be pretty down on the state of X-Men comics right now. I should point out, though, the X-Men, and comics in general, have always had their ebbs and flows and peaks and valleys when it comes to quality. If the retro-reviews are any indication, X-Factor and New Mutants were sucking big time towards the end of their runs, so it's all relative.

So when Rob and Brian are wondering if their tastes have changed now that they're adults, I don't think so; they are just more aware of the bullsh!t when they see it.

It seems this ebb has been really long, though. For me at least. I haven't enjoyed adjectiveless/Legacy since Messiah Complex, or Uncanny since Brubaker's run.

OK; I think I'm finding my footing again. I'm digging AVX. And I just picked up the Wolverine & Jubilee vampire trade; it's actually pretty decent so far. Gonna go back to following Uncanny and Wolverine & The X Men. I remember X Force being pretty cool when it first began, and judging from what the hosts say about the comic, it's pretty solid. Is it still running, or has it been cancelled?

The one thing I'm most definitely NOT picking up is the current incarnation of Astonishing. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but isn't it a "non-universe" X-Men series? Kind of like a lame cousin to the Ultimates line?

Wolverine is the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, or LA Lakers of the X-men. He's to popular now for it to be cool to like him. :)

Help me get caught up: What's X-Factor doing these day?

Rahne puked up baby hell spawn. Werewolf by Night is caring for baby off panel.
Layla resurrected a soulless Strong Guy. Are we calling her Butterfly now?
Havok and Polaris back on the team!? I haven't heard a thing other than Maddox has seem to take a back seat on what was essentially his book.

Anything good about this book? I see most people have it as a borrow or even a buy, but I have not heard anything exciting about this book in years.

Picked up the latest X-Force. Probably the most enjoyable X-Book I've read this month. :) I also picked up Legacy, and while it was OK, I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. Cannonball & Rogue are cool, but I've never been a fan of Iceman or Beast, and I don't know who the hell some of the other characters are. Wolverine & the X-Men=WIN. I dig the vibe of the book. :)

Actually, I think I'll be picking up all of the X Books for the duration of AvX. We'll see who makes the cut once this event is over. Overall, I'm pleased with the AvX event; I haven't followed the X-Books this closely for years. :)

Poor New Mutants. It would be cool if they let the remaining "new" mutants graduate to a regular X-Team, and rope in a crop of new "new" mutants. Maybe keep just one or two original characters on as instructor.
