Nah, Cyclops is here to stay as seen in the Marvel Now promos. His plan was going fine until Iron Man messed up the Phoenix with the robo gun anyway.

My new theory: Hope takes the Phoenix force and either sacrifices herself or flies into space never to be seen again like the red head iron fist lady in the Bendis Avegers arc.

I liked this issue. It seems like Scott and Emma are going to have a show down...so far Scott has been the only one who can control himself...Maybe Emma is the one who bites the dust?

It could be but why would Cyclops get a new visor and outfit but Jean stays in the classic uniform. Also why even include him and leave it a mystery if for sure he's not making it. Just using logic which Comic writer tend to forget sometimes so I'm about 90% sure.

I think the Cyclops seen in the Preview art is the modern day cyke, You know the preview image where his visor has an actual X in it. If it's not modern day Cyke and it turns out to be 60s Cyke then that is the Lazyest art ever....I say that because it looks like an attempt wasn't even made at trying to make him look like a 16 year old.

I finally got around to reading AvX 9. Very nice. The Spidey character beats were outstanding, and Emma's slide into the Dark Phoenix-Side was creepily awesome.

Who thinks it's gonna come down to Scott vs. Emma: To the death? Hope Vs. Emma? And does anyone have any theories on how Wanda, Hope, and the Iron-Fist mythos are all going to fit together in the resolution?

We'll find out Wanda & Iron Fist are Hopes parents.They mate towards the end of AvX & send Hope to Cable just so she would return now & destroy the Phoenix in the conclusion of AvX.

Weeeeeeell...We still don't know who Hopes father is right? We do know her mother lived and died in Alaska correct? We also still don't know what Sinister and the Marauders wanted with Hope during Messiah Complex....Come to think of it once all of these questions are answered it will be nothing short of the Marvel way and be totally underwhelming.

So is anyone else reading all the tie-ins to this? Does Marvel think that people only read Avengers or they read X-Men, and no one reads both? I feel so insulted by the fact that the tie-ins directly contradict each other! There's a good New Avengers issue where it shows the Avengers breaking out of the X-Brig, only to find out it was all a virtual reality program being run by Danger, and they're all still held captive. Then I read X-Men Legacy, where Rogue finds out that Magik is keeping all the imprisoned Avengers in Limbo, inside a volcano! Not even other Avengers, but the same ones - Cage, Spider-Woman, etc! IT has to be the worst job of editing across lines that I've ever seen! I thought they had retreats to discuss this stuff! I mean, when one guy goes "I think Danger will keep the prisoners" and another says "I think they should be trapped in Limbo by Illyana" does Axel Alonso just say "Great! Do both!"

Ugh. Sorry, just had to get my rant out.

I fill your pain Slipstream as I've been ranting about this since AvX #2. This is the big fault having a huge event with multiple writers living in different places not in constant communication. Heck even the main book AvX has this problem with characters leaving and all of a sudden return with out explanation(Beast) and other things. Also it doesn't help that AvX as a whole has not been that good which helps me gloss over that stuff more.

The last page of issue 12 will be a slow pull-back that reveals Spider-Man in a hospital bed looking at a snow globe w/ the Avengers & X-Men in it.
