Oh, fine... Since none of you know how to change a subject, or skip a paragraph once and a while, I've got nothing else to say on the matter.

I do think you guys have a pretty good idea of whats coming up after AvX. Bringing back he original X-men will be better with most of the original five either dead or radically different. I'm actually more interested in that now.

Man.

I love Uncanny X-Cast. It's my favorite podcast, PERIOD. But damn; it's irritating hearing someone speak incorrectly about a subject that's important to me, and not being able to jump in and correct them. :x

I can just see myself transforming into that comic-book guy from The Simpsons LOL :P

Eric you wanna jump in on a subject go right ahead it is a Forum after all. And being a jaded comic book guy from Simpsons would only work if you have witty and snappy responses so for that endeavor I say good luck.

LOL I was mainly referring to the segment with the SDCC Correspondent. The dude was great, and the interaction with Rob & Brian was entertaining. :) I just kept wincing when the guest kept getting his facts wrong about "Marvel: NOW!", which books will be canceled, and the details about the new Bendis X-book.

Still, despite those little nit-picks, the episode was outstanding, and the show continues to be my all-time favorite podcast. R&B have a great rapport, and I'm amazed at how they continuously put out tight, well produced and entertaining shows that manage to be both well-paced and natural sounding. I'm grateful that the guys continue to take the time to put the show together and share it with us. :D

Also, LOL / wince at the eating-out voice mail.

Well don't let it bother you. Maybe it was his perception, I mean,I wasnt at SDCC so I cant say what he heard wasn't true or maybe misinterpreted. Most of what I remember listening to was the same stuff I was reading online all weekend. Anyway I wouldn't take to heart what was said at the con cause it could easily change. We won't know till we see the comics in print.

Eric,

If you'd be so kind as to list out the corrections, I'll mention them on the next show. And blame Gutierrez of course. :)

You know what took me off-guard?

The moment when Mr. Perillo pointed-out that after the Phoenix 5 had started "taking over", most of the other X-Men were just like, "Meh. Okay. Nothing suspicious going on here. Carry on."

I'm just a little disappointed that I didn't fully realize it, myself. My mind just immediately jumped to the result of this - being that the Phoenix 5 is probably doing something else horrible to be ABLE to do all this "good" stuff.

Kinda like a "can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs" thing.

Episode 136: Eating Out with the X-Cast

Postby JonathanCrites » Mon Jul 23, 2012 1:40 pm

Regarding Comic Zeal - Scott over on Two True Freaks can't recommend that app enough.

AvX reminds me of Watchmen in a way - with the Phoenix Force 5 falling in the Dr Manhattan/Ozymandias camp.

At least with Batman the Owls were part of a company wide reboot. Grant Morrison tied all his Black Mask/RIP stuff into old continuity.

I've only read X-Force and crossovers in trade post Messiah CompleX - when did Sinister come back?

Maybe it won't be Scott dying at the end of AvX but Wolverine?

Regarding Dave's wife reading Watchmen, my trade of Watchmen went all through my friends when the film came out. It works for novices and veterans.

I bought a copy of the podcasting book from TwoMorrows y'all are in!

What should have been said:

Marvel's initiative is called "marvel now", not plus one or whatever he was calling it.

They are relaunching number ones each week from the end of October until February.

It is not a reboot, continuity will remain.

The first title is uncanny avengers by remender and cassiday. It seems to be a team made up of avengers and x-men.

Bendis us writing "all-new x-men", which is the O5 in the present title.

Also announced was a follow up to AvX, "AvX consequences", which features a chalk outline on the first cover. Gillen is writing this.

A plus X was also announced. No details, but seems to be an x-men avengers team up book. Slott and loeb were announced as writers.

Am I missing anything?
