OMG! From the guy who brought you "Batman: Odyssey"...

Have you read "Batman: Odyssey?" It's insane. Like worse than Chris Claremont's "X-Men Forever" kind of insane.

Read here.

I read the last issue of batman odyssey because it was rebooted to number 1 last september. Took me a while to realize I was reading the end instead of the beginning. DC took their renumbering seriously.

Let's review.

Sabretooth and Wolverine. I guess that makes sense. They were both in Weapon X together, though this looks pre-Weapon X. They were also retcon'd to be brothers in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine;" not true 616 continuity but it's just as crazy as when Logan thought Creed was his father for a time.

Wolverine and Magneto. Hold up. Someone's been reading the first trade of Ultimate X-Men. Where's Wolvie's sole patch?

Black dude? Miles Dyson from T2 with Havok's power is my best guess.

Woman = Magda, Magneto's wife?

Wolverine has his bone claws, so this should be before his mind gets tampered with. I'm interested to see how much of a scumbag he was, when his mind was relatively his own.

Magneto looks old as hell considering he was a teenager in Auschwitz, a decade before this. Or maybe this is supposed to be the 80's now.

It's possible they are trying to establish a more multicultural X-men origin, since the real first X-men is all WASP.

This feels like a comic version of X-Men: First Class mixed with X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Wouldn't you love for the black guy to be Bishop back from the future? How messed up would that be?

Of course he doesn't have the same body mass build as Bishop, but chasing around Cable and Hope through the millenniums would trim the ol' waist line, no?

Also, because they are no other black X-Men.

I also read that a hobo Namor will be on the team. Nope, I don't know why he's a hobo. This just sounds like crazy town the comic.

Hobo Namor is in continuity. Part of his backstory is that he forgot who he was & where he came from for a while.

Fantastic four #4 as well as season one (supposedly in continuity) have hobo Namor.

Whenever I see Sabertooth being billed on an X-team or any kind of redemptive anti-hero role, I'm like... "This guys a brutal rapist. He's not supposed to be redeemed. I'm not even supposed to like him. He's supposed to be a slicing bag for Wolverine. I shouldn't be reading about him being awesome. I should be reading about him being a terrible, terrible person. Stop trying to make him a hero. Kill him, or don't kill him. Just don't make him a hero."
