Ah, how I miss you, Rutgers.

And your Fat Sandwiches.
If we're not one, but two, are we evil or good? Do we walk the fine line that we'd cross if we could?

And... We're Back!

I missed you guys. I was afraid Rob and Bri would see the forums crash as an opportunity to quit the show, and I would forever be deprived of their witty rapport.

I was a on again/off again poster at the old forum, which I discovered via Uncanny X-Cast. I was on pretty infrequently. In fact, I'm not sure what my user name was there. It was either Eric or wraith1701...

Anyway; I'm a die-hard Star Wars, Trek, and all-around Sci-Fi & comic fan. Been a fan of the X-Men since the late 70's. Living in Louisville, KY and planning a move back to Austin, TX.

Pleased to meet you. 8-)

Just figure I would take this oppertunity and let everyone here know who I am, well as much as I wanna share. But will mostly stick with my personal x history. My uncanny love for the franchise began mostly with a couple of comics that my friend gave me from that point like im sure a lot of my fellow x casters. It was the epic Saturday morning cartoon that ran for 5 seasons needless to say I was hooked bub. So like any rabid fan I had to own anything x men and thru the generosity of my parents along with a small paper route i acquired comics toys and hell even bedspreads of the Jim lee artwork. So just a small setup here I am a young lad its saturday morning and after watching another populer DC animated program I had my Wolvie pillow, Jim lee Blanket, some comics, and about 80 x men figures even well the rare around here Morph never had a Blob but nothing my Marshmellow Man from Ghostbusters could'nt fill in as. And when the music hit at 10 you could imagine that I ran around screaming like a little girl with anticpation on what was about to be pure awsome. If your still reading I commend you. So now flash to today and 4 days ago what do I find but a podcast that is dedicated to rabid foaming at the mouth fans and this Forum that is to me Utopia but enough slobbering all over your genitalia. In those 4 days I have already caught up to episode 23 and plan on being caught up here in the near future. With that being said I just wanted to thank everyone who has kept this alive and strong not only to the creators but fellow fans who have been apart of this since day one. I will do my best to contribute not only to the forums but in anything x related. After all I do love a good debate. As for what I go by you could say it was an evolution all its own it started with just a play on the name Havock (Not really a big fan but always dug the name) so it was Harvock then it was Harvoke and now it is Hartoke which I do post on various things around the web so chances are you might have read or skimmed a comment I have made. Hey im the best at what I do and what I do isnt all that interesting. My only regret is I did'nt stumble on this earlier a mistake that I dont plan on making a 2nd time. So enough xpuns enough rambling nuff said I hope I survive the Xperience...!

Welcome to the X-cast forums Hartoke. Sounds like your love of the X-men began pretty much the same way mine did.

Rob here. Now and always Seraphyn. Super old timers may remember me from the CGS forums (I made all those crappy avatars lots of people used for a while) but I never really interacted in the x forums although I've been a listener from the beginning.

Hello anyway :)

Hi everyone! Brand new "poster" here, but I just listened to every single X-Cast from the very beginning, and after about a year or so, I'm finally caught up! It's really cool finally getting to hear about things that are going on RIGHT NOW as oppose to things that happened years/months ago. Now I gotta try to get use to listening to 1 show every few weeks instead of 1 every day!

I guess I'll share a little bit about my X-History. I started reading around the same time the 90s cartoon came out. I loved the cartoon, so I eventually made my way to the comics.

Eventually my comic book-buying habits became more and more scattered, especially after Age of Apocalypse. I do remember reading an article in Wizard Magazine about the changes that were going to be made to the X-Men (I'm talking about the now infamous Grant Morrison run), and the artwork and overall direction didn't appeal to me at all. I still preferred my X-Men in blue and gold I guess.

Fast forward to about 2 years ago.....I stumbled upon Whedons Astonishing X-Men trades at a bookstore, started reading it and I just LOVED everything about it. And how's this for IRONIC.....after that I read Morrison's New X-Men run, and I actually LOVED that too! I guess with age, I learned to appreciate good writing/storytelling as oppose to just pretty artwork, so it was much easier to embrace the Morrison run.

So at this point I was hooked. I managed to get caught up on all the important crossovers from House of M to Schism. The only books I haven't read are X-Factor and New Mutants, but based on the comments I hear on the show, I'm not in a big rush to start.

Right now I love Wolverine and the X-Men and Uncanny X-Force. I'm glad I'm not the only one who things Uncanny X-Men has been lackluster, but I think issues 10 and 11 weren't bad at all...maybe because of the AvX tie-in, which I am enjoying so far. Astonishing, Adjectiveless, and Legacy are hit-and-miss for me.

So that's pretty much it. Looking forward to more episodes of the X-Cast and geeking out with other X-Fans on this forum!
