My drunk voice-mail/outro is frightening, hahaha. Actually, I was drunk last time I called in, too. Rob, I think I've fallen into your pattern...

Although, I do suppose wine is classier than spiced rum, LOL. Whoopsie.
I really enjoyed the Hunger Games. Now, those two abortions that came after...oh, wait, those were meant to be sequels, sorry, are another story. Granted, I read the first one LONG before the hype, so I wasn't burned out on it like I know I could have been. No, the violence in the book isn't inappropriate (age-wise) for a fucking Young Adult book. Anyone who says otherwise is exhausting. Much more graphic violence is depicted in endless supply everywhere. I will say that I do like that the book (I'm just going to ignore those other two nonsense tumors on the end there...) takes a serious tone on the social/political issues inside. Refreshing in a YA novel. Granted, let's be real, Collins does kind of bash you over the head with the themes. And if preteen girls are going to hype this series as the next Twilight, I would say that Katniss is a FAR FAR FAR better role-model than that twit, Bella. Oh, and the HG movie is boss!
Ah, baggin' on Harry Potter, my childhood, guys. No, you guys really weren't that hard. Granted, I SOOOOO grew up at just the right era for the Potter series. I think that I was just a few years younger than Harry was in every year of the books, so I was right in that sweetspot of both idealizing him and experiencing the same loss of innocence and dissapointment in authority figures at the same time. Plus, Hermione, come on, a boy's gotta dream.
I feel like I'm jaded at this point, when it comes to comics, and I'm not quite 20. Somehow seven years of comic reading seems way too short to be jaded. Just, so often I feel like when I'm reading a modern comic, it just doesn't live up to what I had hoped it would be.
Do you guys think that maybe the comic book characters modern books are about have just been around too long and the writers are either too lazy/too afraid of change/too inept to create/write original, dynamic stories?
And, yeah, that friend of mine totally threw out the idea of a threesome with him, his girlfriend, and me...awkward...
Fuck, Marry, Kill:
Cassandra Nova, Amanda Mueller, or Selene (who hasn't absorbed youth and looks 92)?
Brood Queen, Lady Deathstrike, or Northstar? (I'm channeling Lola in Slacks with this one....hehe)
British Psylocke, Japanese Psylocke, or Kwannon?
Wasp, Scarlet Witch, or She-Hulk?
Rob: Emma Frost, Mary Jane, or the Black Cat?
Brian: Kitty Pryde, Dani Moonstar, or Magik?
