I just read this article from bleeding cool stating a possible New Mutants movie in the works

I will believe it when I see an actual trailer but I think it would be pretty awesome if it came to fruition

Casting Call!

Karma (Xi'an Coy Manh) - Actress, Ellen Wong. Give her a stupid bowl hair cut, much like she had in the beginning "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" (2010).

Cannonball (Samuel Guthrie) - Actor, Robert Pattinson. Perhaps a bit of a stretch but he'd bring much star power to an underrated franchise. Dye his hair blond and make sure he gives his best simple farm boy, lopsided grin like in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (2005); ditch the excessive Twilight Saga brooding.

Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair) - Actress, Felicia Day. She might be a bit too old now, but I love the irony here as she recently played the titular role in "Red: Werewolf Hunter" (2010).

Psyche/Mirage (Danielle Moonstar) - Actress, Moon Bloodgood. Hey, she played a Native American in "Pathfinder" (2007).

Sunspot (Roberto da Costa) - ??? Call me an ignorant American not up on the Latin American scene, but I can't think of anyone.

those are good choices for the girls... can't say i agree even a little bit about cannonball though. to be fair i've never seen him act, but ...

i wonder what kind of lineup would end up in this team. i kind of doubt they'll use the 1986 roster. and instead throw in people like multiple man and jubilee.

they'll make a new mutants movie with a different title and characters similar to the ones in the comics, but with different names.thats my prediction.

If you actually look at what was said, the only mention of New Mutants is by the questioner, not the Fox exec. He was just asked "are you thinking about something else with the X-Men, like New Mutants?" and said yes. So it could be anything X-related really......

im still rooting for a wolverine and x-23 movie.... but without wasting the first hour on the backstory... They could do that with some sort of 15 minute fan flick online.... or at least if I was a producer that's how I'd do it, lol.

I'd be up for a X-Force or X-factor movie. Infact I think it would be cool if next X-men first class, Havok, Polaris and some others like Rahne and Rictor Banshee and even a young Madrox, since he was so underused in X3, go on to be a government issued mutant deployment team, and call that X-factor.

New Mutant movie villain?

As much as I would loathe seeing January Jones cardboard acting again, the White Queen and her Hellions should at least make an appearance. Set the two teams up as rivals and then introduce bigger baddie, Trevor Fitzroy. The two teams can join forces against a common enemy. New Mutants come out a winner; the Hellions, not so much.
