Just finished watching Dusk Till Dawn, and really not what i thought it was going to be. I don't know how but I have never heard anything about this film and I found it in my Dvd library. Started watching it, and the fist half is just like Pulp Fiction, all talk and killing. Then suddenly WFT?? Weird Vampire thing, amazing film. Love RR and can't wait for machete.

500 Days and Basterds...two of my favorites from last year. Great picks gents.

I watched The Other Guys today. Funny. Pretty much what you expect from McKay and Ferrell.

From dusk til Dawn is so damn fun. That cast of badasses is so great. And Cheech's speech about you know what outside the T. Twister bar is so awesome.
"I believe in Rock And Roll!"

"The Gods you worship are steel,
At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel.
A slave who forever rocks,
Is chained in the devil's locks,
And slain by the bloody axe I wail!"

Recently got surround sound, so i thought i might watch all the star wars in order.
I just finished Episode 1, and wow. I was shocked to realizes how much i actually really like this film, I mean it really is a good film. It has its bad moments like for example "Are you and angel?" but it really is, how can i put this, "Star Wars". If you get me.
Next up attack of the clones.

I saw Ju-On earlier today, because I've been wanting to expand my movie reach...a few jumps aside, it didn't exactly scare me, but it was still a well-made and creepy horror film, I felt. It felt like it had the right beats and tone to make for an amazingly creepy flick. I was also surprised about how...cheap it looked. Not a dig on it, but I guess I'm used to seeing Japanese films where it looks like modern Hollywood cinema.

I am half way through From Dusk till Dawn at the moment. It is better than I remember!!

So many great lines ("That is a matter of opinion and I don't care about yours!" "If you try and run, I have 6 little friends and they can all run faster than you!" "Are you such a **** loser that you can't tell when you've won?")

LOVE THAT MOVIE!!

Also DANNY TREJO FTW!!!!!

I have a blu-ray import of Dusk Till Dawn. I think it came out in Canada.

Just watched "Book of Eli" last night. I enjoyed it but someone must have mentioned the twist at the end to me before because I kinda realized the whole time and was looking for hints. All in all worth a watch. Not sure why this wasn't a bigger release since it had Denzel and Oldham in it.

Watched quite a few movies (for me) in the last 2 or 3 weeks. Can't remember if I've posted some of them here or not.

Karate Kid III. It's been way too long since I watched any movies from the franchise, but III was still pretty great. ****1/2

Komodo vs Cobra. UGH. Unintentionally funny part: Jeri Manthey (from Survivor) plays a reporter and gives a report stating that the HUGE creatures seen on her report have not been created by Hollywood special effects wizards. I'm thinking, "You're damned right they aren't." Typical crappy "B" movie, but the large breasted blonde gets killed early, making it an epic fail. *

Get Smart. Better than I was expecting, although a bit long at 1:45. Carell and Hathaway make a pretty decent team. Would've like to see The Rock have a bigger role, as he was quite good. ***1/4

Jennifer's Body. Um . . . Megan Fox is hot, and . . . she kisses her hot blonde co-star. J.K. Simmons was funny. Those were the only redeeming qualities. This was a very horrible movie. Well, Lance Henricksen showed up at the very end, and I was left wondering if he was playing Satan from his turn in The Garden. *3/4

The Shawshank Redemption for the first time in quite a few years. Just as great as I remembered. *****

My all-time favorite movie, Pulp Fiction. *****

Good Will Hunting in HD ****1/2 Great stuff.

Got my Netflix streaming disc for PS3 early last week. Watched Star Trek: First Contact in HD. Certainly my favorite featuring the NextGen cast, seeing it in its high def glory gave me a greater appreciation of the beauty of it. Except for Data's makeup. That was pretty bad. Still my 3rd favorite Trek flick. ****1/4

Followed that up in possibly the worst way possible. Checking out the horror flick offerings, I spot Teeth, and curiousity got the best of me. I remember hearing about it a couple of years ago, but hadn't watched it. I want my 90 minutes back. F*@%ing horrible this movie was. Not a single redeeming quality. DUD

The original A Nightmare on Elm Street in HD (Netflix). Very cleaned up version of the classic. It really looked great, with very little film grain visible. ****1/2

Kick-Ass (Blu-ray) - Enjoyable, but I preferred the comic. Lots of violent goodness. ***1/2

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (HD Netflix stream) - Very cleaned up for HD, it looked really great. The rest is just as awesome as it's ever been. Plenty of Shatner's . . . . . overly-dramatic . . . . . . pauses throughout. Great stuff. ****1/2

Knock, Knock (HD Netflix stream) - I'm usually a fan of stupid slasher flicks, but this was really bad. Decent enough idea for a flick, but the crappy dialogue and horrible acting kept it from being enjoyable. *

Saw "The Other Guys" On the Comedy scale, I laughed, so it passed there. Ont he action scale, explosion check, car chase check, fistfight check, so it passed there. Enjoyed it.
