I'm not anti subs at all for foreign films. I did LOVE the design of the Cloverfield creature, would have been nice to see it more.

And slain by the bloody axe I wail!"

I am the co-host of the TWO TRUE FREAKS PODCAST . I have been alternately described as a "hellish jumble of mismanaged parts" and a "humble God".

Saw it on a date with my wife...it is still one of the few films that really makes me tear up at the ending.

Okay...they have the for the remake of Let the Right One In posted, and I'm significantly less enthused. It looks like they're going more of the horror route, and I think that will be a big mistake. And, from the looks of it, they are not going to have the "revelation" scene, or if they are, they opted for a modern, twitchy, Flash Speed-Force vibe rather than the dramatic shot of Eli starting to "bleed out". I know the book had a different feel than the original movie, and I don't know if the new film is trying to capture that. But, if it is, I am less interested in reading the book, as well as seeing the remake.

Yeah, that trailer has all of the more suspenseful moments of the movie in it, but they're all things that were in the original movie. (or 95% anyway. Is the cop this movies version of the suspecting townsperson in the original?)

Yeah, because that seemed to work so well with Gus Van Sant's version of Psycho. :D

Joe -- Someone needed to get a shock to the shammys for greenlighting THAT idea -- Anthrax[/quote]
Yeah, it didn't work when an actual talented director did it, what are the odds that this one will be good? That was another case of "People don't want to watch a black and white movie." So fucking what? FUCK the people who won't read subtitles or don't watch black and white! I hate that if you want to make money in America you have to pander to the mouth-breather majority.
My horror dollar is going to Pirahna 3-D, no pretention there, just blood, breasts and beasts - the Joe Bob Briggs trifecta!

Bumping to post .

The thing I took away from it was that, according to this, Let Me In is just as good as the original Right--and, in a few ways, superior.

Here's a positive, but less jubilant review (100% Tomatometer)

I've slept on this and then read a few more reviews and decided that I hate this movie on principle alone, even if it's "good". It has a 100% on the Tomatometer, yet most of the reviews also acknowledge that the best parts are lifted from the first movie. The "improvements" they talk about usually seem to be that there's more Americanized action and blood and that the lack of that uncomfortable shot of Eli's mangled "secret". I don't care how "good" this movie is, it's very EXISTENCE is artistically and intellectually lazy. Now I'm DOUBLY curious to see it and DOUBLY sure that I won't pay for it.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEE THE ORIGINAL BEFORE YOU VIEW THE DOPPELGANGER!

I saw it last night, and I rather liked it. I thought it was on par with the original.

Yes, Reeves piggybacked on the look and feel of the original, but I rather liked most of the changes he made to the plot and script.

Bottom line, if you're just going to see one: see both.
