He looks like he could skirt the line between teen and twenty-something, but I wonder if that is what they're going for.

I defend Chris Evans because Captain America is being produced by Marvel, as part of the overall universe being built by Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, etc.

Spider-Man is still being done by Sony. For all those that hated Spider-Man 3, remember we got that movie because of heavy handed studio involvement. They wanted one movie, Rami wanted another, and what we got was a bastard amalgamation of both that very few enjoyed on any level.

The studio involvement has not ended, it's only getting worse. Rami was all geared up to work on a very promising 4th installment, but the studio got involved. Now we have a reboot that's looking to take it's cues from the meaningless Ultimate universe. This casting makes no sense to me at all, much less than Chris Evans, and yes, less than Toby McGuire.

I'll give Chris Evans the benefit of the doubt because I have Marvel's track record of great casting choices and excellent films to work with. I can't give this guy the same consideration for the same reasons.

And before anyone tries to say Marvel is doing the Ultimates, they're not. They are taking what works and making something new. Sam Jackson may scream Ultimate Nick Fury, but no once can say the Iron Man origin is anything like the Ultimate Universe.

Who is the new Spider-Man!

I know I can go look it up but . . . well . . . it sounds like a lot of work.

As a Spider-Man fan I hope this reboot brings in new life and does not kill the franchise.
