Not sure if anyone read the recent miniseries, "Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers". It was a great story about some no-nonsense, commando-style Autobots. This is a great shot (by Nick Roche) of three Wreckers in action, Perceptor, Impactor, & Twin-Twist:

Cool splash page featuring Kyle at the grave of his first dead g/f, you know, the one famously stuffed into a refrigerator.

This piece really captures the McDaniel-style Batman. While this particular page (Batman 607, page 1) had not been cared for properly prior to my acquiring it, I couldn't resist the strong visuals.




Few artists have drawn Batman in a way that is so distinct yet captures the essence of the character in such a classic manner. Breyfogle is the artist that really defines Batman in my mind, and this particular page (Detective 589, page 13) brings back fond memories of reading this run of issues as a kid. Great stuff.

Thanks, the whole original art thing is quite addictive. I'm having to throttle back my spending to stuff that I deem "must-haves".

Mine hasn't learned to ask... yet.

I haven't gotten into sketches yet, as I don't make it to many cons. So far, I've been sticking to interior pages, preferably pages that made an impression on me when I originally read the issues. Nothing better than picking up a page from one of your favorite issues you read 20+ years ago.

Jet City Comic Con was this weekend in Seattle. It was a new, one day show but put on by the same people that promote Emerald City so you knew it had to be good. The guest was pretty good for a 1 day show and it wasn't just the same old crowd from ECCC.

I just obtained a dozen pages from Special Missions #16 by Larry Hama & Herb Trimpe. This is some classic stuff near and dear to my comic-loving heart.

That is great!! It's a goal of mine to get a complete book of something!! I'm actually pretty close, I got 40 of 44 pages from a 24 book by IDW.

Well, I've got just over half this issue, but I feel quite certain that I won't be able to obtain the rest. But I have enough pages that the story nearly makes good sense with just the twelve that I have!

I've seen a few issues here and there where every page was being sold as a package, but that's pretty rare. You think you can find your last 4 pages?

Snagged a John Buscema Conan page. Man can that guy draw barbarians and babes!

This is the 4-layer cmyk color guide for this particular X-Factor cover circa 1989. While not as good as owning the original artwork, if I ever found that, I'd likely never afford it anyway! But this is a great cover nonetheless. You can't get any better than an X-Men redhead girl-fight! One of my all-time favorite covers, by the incomparable Walt Simonson.

Finally got the cover for issue 22 of the IDW series (also Robert Atkins); goes nicely with the cover to issue 21 I posted further up the page. Clayton Brown has done a nice job on the inks too.
