I like movies that set up interesting worlds that are built upon in subsequent sequels without just blatantly "ending with the sequel in mind." Plus I think it has one of the best scores in recent memory. I read that they did the final edit of the movie to the score and it shows. Being a dad now makes a lot of the father/son relationship plot resonate with me. And it's nice to get a family friendly movie without being a "kiddie" film. I thought it did a good job of relaunching the franchise without rebooting it outright. Loved Jeff Bridges. I really want to see where a sequel to this movie will go.
