HHW 215 - Half Hour Wasted - Episode 215

Postby Brad » Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:52 am

This week artist Jun Bob Kim recounts the amazing story about his father who went missing for almost three days. It’s a tale about love, prayer and sheer will-power.

Excellent episode. I was so glad (I think we all were) when Jun Bob's dad was found.

Thank you for having me on the show, guys!

To all listeners, thank you for rooting for my family and caring for us. Also, I'm sorry the episode does not carry much entertainment value. :-( It's boring but allowed the HHW crew to take a "week off" and blame me when the episode falls flat on its face.

I was down in Houston during all this visiting my son for his birthday. I don't know Houston all that well, but kept an eye out. I felt bad that I didn't do more, but on my way home Sunday, I was glad to hear that he had been found.

And Jun Bob, that was not a boring show at all. It was entertaining, heartwarming and a great story and all of us on here are kinda one big ol' geek family and we were glad to hear all turned out well. And besides...if the show hadn't been your story we might have ended up with 2 hours of Bill talking about Dune, Mark MillAR and words of the day!

Again....glad he was found man and all my good thoughts go with you.

This was such an intriguing story. I am so glad you found your father, defiantly not boring. You had me enthralled at work the entire episode.

Firstly, I must confess that I thought this was some kind of April Fools gag. I didn't have my computer at home over the weekend, so when I got in Monday morning the first thing I got was Ken's podcast saying that your dad had been found, my immediate thought was this was the punchline to some elaborate AF joke. Sadly as I read through Facebook activity for the weekend, I realised that it was not a joke and in fact was deadly serious......so, firstly, I am sorry for my initial reaction.

Secondly, WOW, just WOW!! I was sitting in the car by myself this morning listening to the episode and Jun recount his story about the deer and I had tears running down my face. I don't believe in coincidences, and I do believe that this was God showing His LOVE and His GRACE to you when you called out for Him. Even as I type I am getting puffy eyed, but I am at work now so I need to stop that!! :)

Anyway, thanks for sharing Jun Bob. It was definitely NOT a boring episode!!

GOD IS GOOD!!
BE EXCELLENT TO ONE ANOTHER......

I happen to live in Cypress not too far from the Addicks Reservoir and Bear Creek area where the search was going on. I'm a new listener to the show and it was good to hear the story knowing it had a happy ending. A missing loved one has got to be one of the worst things that can happen to a person. This was a captivating episode and really stands out for me(I've been listening to the archives). Good job telling the story Jun Bob, and good job being a son. God is indeed good!
