My understanding, and I could be wrong about this, is that Mike is okay with it.
Me? My first inclination is that everyone involved in this should be horsewhipped, but as I've said many, many times before -- what does it matter? They have fucked this character up so far beyond recognition at this point that I really don't care what they do with him anymore, other than it's an absolute crime that kids today won't grow up with a proper Superman that they can look up to as a hero and role-model. Instead, they're going to get this pussified, liberal, bullshit, toothless, PC version who fights for peace, love, and global-networking or whatever the fuck rather than TRUTH, JUSTICE, and the AMERICAN way. It makes me sick, but I'm tired of bitching about it. Piss on DC Comics.

See, I have never collected Batman. And I have not collected Superman since the 90s. And I am not a Green Lantern collector. So the major twists and relaunches don't really impact me that much.
I am very excited for The Savage Hawkman. I am also interested in Sgt. Rock and Men Of War, Blackhawks, All-Star Western, Hawk & Dove, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Flash, and Fury of Firestorm. Will I buy all of them? Doubtful. But the ridiculous changes to the Superman Family doesn't bug me that much because I already had my "last hurrah" with Superman in the New Krypton Saga, which I really enjoyed.
