Yup, that's the Red Skull alright!

Both of theses static shots of Red Skull and Cap are awesome. I'm tryin my best not to let my expectations get to high. I was really worried that Captain America would not be done respectfully enough to suit my red white and blue American ideals.... somehow hollywood craps on those ideals or is quick to show the flaw in them and that would just not suit the Captain America image I have in my head. Fingers crossed I guess...

The full 2 1/2 minute trailer is up. Holy crap!!!! I'm really pumped about this movie. All fears about them whitewashing Hitler or the Nazis are put aside. They mention Hitler specifically in the trailer. Tommy Lee Jones narrates it. Can't wait!!

I refuse to see this and Thor

While Captain America looks to be a great movie, they are going to ruin it by doing this 3-D crap. Not only are they releasing it in 3-D but it has been filmed in 2-D and then converted into 3-D. I have had a personal boycott on all 3-D movies and I intend to keep it that way. I'll catch this and Thor on Blu-ray.

You do realize you can just go to a 2D screening right? o.0

I do, but theatres that screen just the 2-D version where I live are hard to find and it would require me going to a slightly bigger city to watch the 2-D version, which could be a hour and a half drive, esentially defeating itself in the process.

Wow, Silvestri's score, from these samples, seems to be a winner, run up to 3:03 for the Cap Fanfare.

I can't say enough good things about this movie. I really really liked it. I think it's my favorite of the Marvel studios flicks and one of the best super hero movies I've seen.

It hit all the beats that I was hoping for. The story was simple enough that it can be enjoyed by a large age group. There was nothing really awful that a 9 or 10 year old couldn't handle.

Evans did an awesome job as Cap. This is not Johnny Storm or Jensen from The Losers.

Tommy Lee Jones stole the show and had a much larger role than I thought.

Red Skull look good. Hugo Weaving played the part really well. I even liked Arnim Zola.

Lots of Easter Eggs and nods to the Marvel U and movies outside the Marvel U. Ties in well with Thor and Iron Man.

I can't recommend it enough. If you're on the fence go and see it now. I plan on seeing it again on Monday with the wife.

Just saw it. Took my 11 y/o son and we both liked it..... Maybe not quite as much as Russ but it was a solid movie. I'm not infinately knowlegeable on Cap lore so it could be I missed some of the finer points. I guess I was kind of waiting for one super spectacular scene to really seal the deal for me and while none blew me away the movie as a whole was "solid".

I'm with Russ, it was outstanding. What a great way to end the build up to The Avengers. There's SO MUCH in here that ties back to the 4 movies that came before it. The entire "Marvel Movie Universe" has been now built and we're ready to bring it all together in May.

I can't wait to talk about it with the LOD this week. I need to see it again.

Yeah, this was a darn classy picture. Best Cap origin movie they could make in this day and age without it being too cheesy or irrelevant.
Anyone else notice the 40s Human Torch costume at the Expo when Steve and Bucky walk in?
Plus-Cap and Commandos MONTAGE! Awesome!
