Went to a seminar in Baton Rouge today with my boss. The class ended at noon, so we went to see a movie before heading back. He was paying, and he wanted to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I wasn't terribly enthused, but it was a free movie. Well, it was . . . marginally better than the 2nd movie. Much of the action had sllllloooooowwwwww motion sequences, so it was a bit easier to understand what was happening during the fights. Way too many attempts at humor with Sam's parents, and the 2 mini Autobots that live with Sam and his new piece of ass. Pretty horrible dialogue throughout, although Peter Cullen (Optimus) and LEONARD NIMOY (Sentinel Prime) did an awesome job with what they were given. Megan Fox's replacement did all of . . . look really hot. There's even a scene during the final battle where she's just standing there, doing nothing, for several seconds. Shockwave and Soundwave were pretty cool.
The most stupid thing (perhaps): After a predictable heel turn by Sentinel Prime and he & the Decepticons use the space bridge to bring a buttload of Decepticons to Earth, the U.S. Government bans the Autobots. From Earth. So they can fight the big scary robots, since they've been so effective in their efforts so far. When the Autobot swerve happens, it's not mentioned that the gub'ment is in on the 'Bots plans. Did the Autobots plan the swerve on their own? I guess. At least the minstrel show Autobots weren't in this. 4.5/10
