Okay, Avenger boy, Cap came in and he stated that he wasn't asking for Hope to come with them. This is why Cyclops fired first (ala Han Solo). It's not like Cap came in waiving an olive branch for peace. He came in to get Hope. He just did it in an insult to Cyclop's intelligence that he could get Cyclops to just hand her over, but he knew one way or another they were taking her.
It's not like Cap is giving Hope any choice either. He's not coming in with Hope's best interest either. Cyclops view for Hope is that sometimes you don't get a choice of whatis going to happen and all you can do is prepare for the inevitable. For that matter we don't even know what Cap's plan is. Get Hope...that's about as far as his plan has gone so far.
And yes, Wolverine was consulted, but that's another bonehead move...let's consult with the guy who has the biggest chip on his shoulder against Scott. I didn't see Wolverine joining Cap or providing any advice on what Cap needs to do. He basically just said that what is coming is bad news.
I went into this with a total open mind because I like both teams a lot, and I like Cap and Cyclops a ton. But To me this is the Avengers overstepping their limits and being dicks. The X-Men have experience also in the world and universe saving business. Maybe, as I mentioned before, come in saying "you guys have experience with this, so what can we do to help stop this from coming." Then if Cyclops had been jerky or said "nothing" and blasted Cap. Then I would side with Cap and the Avengers.
It would be like you coming into my house and saying "you know, your kid has the potential to be a pyromaniac and burn a lot of homes that people live in, so I'm going to take him with my family." But you have no experience with dealing with psychological issues of pyromania. You just think you know better. I would tell you to get the hell out of my house. You are not taking my child.
