I'm still gonna pick it up for my love of the character.

I give it 9 issues. 2 of those issues will be tied to an event that Gambit himself has no connection to. Like the Red Hulk 2012 Mayan event.

What would be cool is if they retconned his Captain-Save-a-Ho routine over the last couple years, by saying it was all an act and that he was just stealing shit the whole time. Did he follow Rogue and her boyfriend up to space? No it turns out there was some shiar tech that needed purloining. Did he follow X-23 around to help find her soul? Fuck no, she was travelling to places with lots of rich people, with lots of shit to steal.

Over the years Gambit hasn't been one of my favorite X-Men, but he has grown on me, I do like him, and when he's absent from a title I do notice it. That said I'll check it out, but space and Kirby style monsters does not bode well. Both are great things in and of themselves, but they don't mesh well with Gambit's style imo. Kinda like pineapple and tuna fish, both great separate, not so great together. But, then, anything is better than Belladonna, the Assassin's Guild and the Thieves Guild.

Call me a fanboy, but everything I've read about the treatment for the series makes me hopeful that it could last for quite the run. It was also exciting when Liz and I were talking dirty with James Asmus last night.

I don't think they would, but couldn't this series be renumbered to #50 after issue 9? Liz?
