Just saw the movie last night. really, really enjoyed it. The film already made $641 million worldwide in just 12 days. This is good news for us comic fans as it will keep these films being made for a few more years. Congrats to Marvel's film division for the last 4 years of films. They were able to do for their film universe what Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and others did for DC's animated universe. hopefully we'll get a Hawkeye/ Black widow team up film in the next slate of films.

Apparently, a SHIELD movie being considered, so there might be some more Hawkeye/Black Widow coming up.

After seeing how kick-ass the helicarrier was, and the way that Fury ran SHIELD, I'd love to see an all SHIELD film. Bring in AIM in full yellow jumpsusits, The Maggia, HYDRA, all these threats would be super-spy awesomeness. Anything that can lead to me seeing MODOK on screen needs to happen. A Fury, Maria Hill, Black Widow, Hawkeye film would be awesome, set it as a prequel and bring Coulson back, shit, bring him back anyway, I loved that dude in all these movies.

I saw it in IMAX 3D on Saturday and then again in 2D on Sunday. Can't say enough good things about this film. I wish they would have made Cap a little stronger though. He seemed to get tired and winded fighting the Chitauri. But that's a very small complaint in an overly awesome movie.

The Antman film has picked up steam again because of the success of the Avengers!

The Avengers!

Postby JonathanCrites » Mon May 07, 2012 2:26 pm

I went yesterday afternoon with my wife and two other couples and everyone loved it. Unfortunately my wife hadn't seen Cap or Thor so she had to catch up with the exposition in the first 20 minutes. Best quote from her was that Thor looked like the cover of a romance novel. Hard to argue with that.

I truly loved the film and can't believe it turned out as well as it did. It makes me want to go back and watch all the other Marvel Film U movies, which says a lot to me about how cohesive they've made this universe. Everyone one had a part to play, everyone got their moment to shine, and most of the characters had very satisfying arcs.

Also, 'Robin' from HIMYM as Maria Hill!

From what I understand there is an Ant-Man cameo in the movie. Although apparently even on the Imax you have to squint to see him.

LOL! My response was a more dignified "FUCKING COOL."

There HAS to be an Avengers 2. It's like a law of physics or something. :)

I'm pretty sure the box-office raping performance of this coupled with the stellar critical and fan word of mouth means we are going to get Avengers films until the profit margin falls off completely. Bring on Thanos, and Kang and the Kree, show me Vision and Ant-Man and Wonder Man and TChalla. God, I'm still so amped right now.

Okay guys, favorite lines or moments from the film?

-Cap giving Fury ten bucks after the full Helicarrier reveal
-Anything involving the Hulk
-Coulson being a total Cap fanboy
-Black Widow's intro sequence
-Tony and Bruce having their scientific bromance

Man, it's easier to name parts that WEREN'T badass or funny.

"Mewling Quim" I still don't know how this stayed in a Disney film. Its basically olde english for whining C-Word, and I was the only one who laughed at it, both times i saw it. I'd love to see the crowd response in England.

But seriously, during the street battle, Iron Man fires his repulsor at Cap's shield which richochets off taking out a bunch of Chitauri.
Thor Mjolnir Uppercutting Hulk.
ScarJo's Ass
Pepper Potts in Daisy Dukes(yes, I'm an ass-man)
"I'm always angry."
Cap showing how he's the fucking leader of the team, and the way he was super acrobatic.
"Better clench up Legolas"
"You have a condition" Harry Dean Stanton!
Hulk-No Ejection for you!

"You know, the last time I was here and saw one man standing above everyone else, we had a disagreement."
"There's only one God Ma'am, and I'm pretty sure he doesnt dress like that."

Cap:Word is you can find the cube.
Banner:Is that the only word on me.
Cap:Only word I care about.

And a narrative choice that was made, we didn't spend 20 minutes seeing Cap get thawed. He's just back. I'm sure it was filmed, but this movie didn't need it if you had already seen Cap's movie.

I could go on.....

I loved that line too, Andy, all though I'm pretty sure Whedon is a spiritualist or something like that. He has some non God of Abraham beliefs.

So the Avengers I want to see next are: Wonder Man, Mockingbird, (I don't want Scarlet Witch because she's an X-Women), Hank Pym, and, of course, Black Panther.

All of the above moments made me giggle & grin like a little kid. :) And a kept having chuckle aftershocks at the scene where Hulk & Thor were walking side-by-side after whippin' up on the Chitauri... awkward pause.. then WHAM!! LOL! :D
