My favorite moment:

Thor: He's my brother
Natasha Romanoff: He killed 80 people in 2 days
Thor: ...He's adopted

I actually laughed out loud

If we're not one, but two, are we evil or good? Do we walk the fine line that we'd cross if we could?

My favorite moment was probably when Hulk grabs Loki & smash's him into the ground repeatedly. But there where a lot of good moments.

It was funny and entertaining, but I don't really think it's non-geek friendly. I actually felt guilty for bringing the lady. She really enjoyed Iron Man, Nolan's Batman films, and Captain America (sidenote: I didn't even like Cap all that much), but this was just so full of other film's continuity and cosmic cubes and aliens...etc. The first thirty minutes or so were tough for even me to get through. Whedon's witty dialogue and the impressive action scenes will entertain the masses, but the film had plenty of holes. As an Avengers fan, I thought it was great. As a movie fan, I felt it was a lot of fun, but sort of a mess.

Edited out this last part. I don't know how to do spoiler tags on this forum. My bad.

Just saw it last night. Had lots of fun. I enjoyed the Thanos reveal and that attacking Earth would be to court Death, about him always trying to go steady with Death.

Each character had a great arc, and even my non-comic reading gf said she would watch a movie about any of the characters (referring to Fury, Hawkeye, and spandex- i mean Black Widow)

The movie was fantastic, IMO. Definitely a great way to bring together all of these characters, with each of them getting their time to shine. My favorite moment in the scene was probably the 30 second continuous shot that went from Black Widow, to Iron Man/Cap, to Hawkeye, and then finished with Hulk and Thor kicking ass on the worm. The fact that it had so much ass kicking by everyone in one shot was great and really gave me that "Holy shit I'm watching the Avengers kick some serious ass" feeling. That the scene ended with Hulk blindsiding Thor in one of the movie's funniest moments was even better.

There were a lot of great one-liners in this flick.

Now before I get in this not the biggest Avengers fan. I like them its just not my cup of tea Im more of the Sweet tea variety and a couple of others have pointed this out and this is just imo the only 2 that really stood out was RDJ and Chris Hemsworth and thats just who I like not only as actors but as the roles they were given I would put CGI Hulk but a few more scenes of him referring to the enviroment in classic referring to himself in the 3rd person but those are just personal nitpicks as for the movie itself. Too me their is about 15 min worth of decent scenes in the first half and then the last 30 min was solid but other than that it was a snooze fest Im sorry but Loki the guy who played him I still think they miscast. As for the character I could be wrong but I felt like he was just underused in his role and the grand scheme of it all. Which I know a sequel has already been green lit and things will change either for the better or the worse. For a comic movie yes their getting better but they need to step it up. I am a picky bastered but when someone sets the bar anymore you need to reach that bar or surpass it. Only comic movies that I have really dug on was Spiderman 2 (Tobey a smartass spidey you are not Lame) and The Dark Knight (oh Christian Bale Kevin Conroy called quit butchering the Bats voice) See I will tear down movies I adore its the critic in me. Both sequels so Avengers 2 could follow suit. Anyway I enjoy any feedback and at least we live in an age where we can even debate about comics coming to the big screen and not just our fan fiction of scripts that quite honestly would'nt be anything to scoff at. Ummm eat popcorn watch movies

thor's "role" was delegated solely to the plot point of tying in loki. he had only a 20 second moment of begging loki to come home that could truly be counted as development. even agent coulson had more attention paid to his character. i feel your assessment is off the mark.

yes, my only true complaint about the movie is that the god of mischief got up to very little mischief as well. starting a war to take over the world is hardly "mischief" but it was consistent with his role in Thor last year, so i don't let my personal impression of the character from folklore and the comics affect my impression of the character in the movie. the same way i don't complain about batman not being the world's greatest detective since adam west filled the role.

Im not sure, but I think this Loki might be based on the one who was the villain of the first avengers issue.

I liked the movie well enough, but I'm definitely not as high on it as others. Part of that might be that I saw it in IMAX 3D and every 10 minutes or so I had to take off my glasses and rest my eyes. By the end, I had a bad headache going. That could have kept me from loving the shit out of it. That said, I can't find anything really "wrong" with it outside of nitpicks.

I really hope they make that second one with Thanos as hinted.

I laughed out loud when Agent Coulson told Captain America "Sometimes people need a little old fashion" which reminded me of the South Park reference for hand jobs. I really hope that was an inside joke.

Absolutely loved it!!!!!!! No movie is ever going to please everyone but where ever it was pitched on the geek scale, it was just about right for me!

I think some of the comments about back story are a bit over sensitive. Did anyone know what the Clone Wars were in Star Wars New Hope?

Best Hulk movie to date, had me crying in a couple of places.
