I mentioned this somewhere else, but I have started reading Dick Francis' LONGSHOT.

It is a mystery book based around the horse training/horse racing industry. If you aren't into horses, don't let that put you off. This stuff merely forms the background for some great characters and a really really great mystery story.

I will hopefully write a more detailed report and post it in the coming weeks, but suffice to say that it is highly recommended, a really really easy book to read and the ending few sentences are the best thing that I have ever read!!

Now that I have finally finished the Harry Potter books I am reading The Lightning Thief, the first Percy Jackson book. Its pretty good, better than I thought but I do also like the whole Greek mythology thing.

I've got a whole bunch of books queued up on the iPad, including the Hobbit, to read.

Enjoy reading using the iBooks and Kindle apps.

Thats what I heard, kinda not looking forward to watching the movie, and may only do that after I finish reading ALL the books, just so it doesnt take anything away from the books.

Is Percy Jackson geared towards kids like Harry Potter?

What age range are we talking about here?

I want to start reading chapter books to my son, but he doesn't seem to be interested in Harry Potter for some reason.

Steeven it is very similar to Harry Potter just with Greek Mythology. I would give it a try!

I'm reading The Groucho Letters, which is pretty much what it sounds like. It's a collection letters written by Groucho Marx. It proves what I already knew...the man was a genius.

Currently reading or rather listening to an audiobook from Alexander McCall Smith, The Double Comfort Safari Club, from the No. 1 Ladies Det. Agency. This is the 11th book in the series. I have read all of the books so far and love them. Last year there was a tv series starring Jill Scott on HBO that was really good but is has not been back for a second season. It's not cancelled but been put on hiatus. The biggest problem is that the series is actually shot in Boswata and cost a mint to shoot.
I am a geek girl, deal with it.

Simon will be 8 next month. The Hobbit is a good idea. I have that around here somewhere.

Until then I got the first Redwall book from the Library. He's excited about starting that book.

I'm reading "A More Excellent Way". It's about spiritual roots of disease, both physical and mental.

It's opened my eyes to a lot of anger and bitterness I have, and it's helped me learn love people despite their faults.
