I haven't seen The Dark Crystal in god knows when. All I remember about that is those creepy elf muppets

Paramount's shut down production of "Ninja Turtles" to work on the script. Maybe they learned a lesson from "Retaliation?"

I wonder if the beating they were taking on the Internet had anything to do with it

I think Michael Bay thought he got away with changing Transformers, so why not change Turtles too?

I mean at least the basics of transformers were there, they were robots that change into vehicles, they were from Cybertron, they had an Earth kid that first discovers and helps them, etc. Granted he couldn't keep which version of the lore he wanted to use straight. It wasn't great but it was close. If he did it like he was planning to do Turtles then the Transformers would have been made by Earthlings and were cars that turned into robots with people inside them or something like that.

You can't change something core to what a property is and not expect the fans to call Bullshit. The Red Skull isn't Italian, Cobra Commander isn't a sickly scientist in an Iron Lung, and The Turtles aren't aliens. /rant

Got my Ultimate Collection Vol. 1 in the mail yesterday. From Amazon it was close to 50% off.

Really like the look and feel of the book.. with a good hardcover, I'll find myself wanting to pick it up regularly just to hold it... caress.. ah.. sorry.

Anyway, the oversized pages are awesome, especially for splash pages. Last night I read through the first issue and just stared at the splash of Raph crouched on the corner of a building before he goes to offer the challenge to Shredder.

I wanted to get this first volume in hand before committing to any others, but I'll be collecting them.

Rob Paulsen, who was the voice of Raphael on the original cartoon (not to mention Snow Job on Joe), has a podcast called "Talkin' Toons," where he interviews voice actors about their careers. He announced on his last episode that he'll be getting together with the other actors that voice the Turtles on the show for a 25th anniversary retrospective on August 24.

Interestingly enough, he'll be Donatello on the upcoming Nick cartoon.
