I just found "Talkin' Toons" in the last couple weeks. Paulsen is a great interviewer, of course he's worked with most of these people for 20+ years. It's fascinating how tight a community the voice over folks are.

Premiere Date & Additional Cast For Nickelodeon’s 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'

Nickelodeon’s reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series will be returning this fall and Nickelodeon will officially announce the premiere date on the network this Saturday. But according to EW, the cable network will premiere the show on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. with two back-to-back episodes and will consist of 26 episodes this season.

The network describes the series about the four turtles, voiced by Jason Biggs (Leonardo), Sean Astin (Raphael), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo) and Rob Paulsen (Donatello) being 'Funnier and with more Ninjutsu than ever before, the show will explore the companionship of four teenage brothers learning to rely on themselves and one another as they unravel the mystery of their existence and grow to become the heroes in a half-shell that they are destined to be.'

Additional voice cast includes Mae Whitman playing April O'Neil, Hoon Lee as Master Splinter and Kevin Michael Richardson as Shredder.

Went to TRU this weekend and saw the new TMNT figures and toys. They were only $8.99 each for the figures. Go check them out in person or on line.

Yeah, Dan mentioned this to me in Charlotte. Bummed out. His stuff is really nice in black and white. As diplomatically as I could, I told him that his colorist was not adding any additional value. I.e. she was stomping on his great line work with shitty coloring. I'll leave his response off the record.

I picked up the Van, and the 4 basic Turtles over the Weekend (7/15/12) at Toys 'R Us.

I have to say that the Basic figures (barring their weapons) are the best so far in terms of quality, articulation and feel to them. That even includes the Neca ones. I really think they are the best (non-exclusive purchase for me this year.) I will post pics later in the random toy pic section.

I went outside with my daughter and took pictures of the new Basic TMNT figures with the Shellraiser. Note: I touched up the shells (front and back) with Tamiya's Nato Brown Acrylic paint.

So I tried a different TRU and they had the new figures out. Plus van and a few
other vehicles. Didn't pick up any but am probably going to get the four turtles. Just wanted to see them all in person.

I'd say the four turtles are great, fun figures. After that I'd rate shredder the next best. He looks pretty cool. The foot soldier is not bad either. That leaves three I was kind of meh on. April is okay but really simple and basic looking. I think her younger look will probably work for the show but it doesn't seem like a figure I'd need or display. Splinter to me looks weird. I already knew that from pictures but I just don't like the way his face is painted and his hands look a bit more like human hands. Finally the Krang figure while probably cool on the show seemed a bit blah. The actual brain being a bit too small. Makes sense on the scale of the figure but ends up looking a bit under detailed.

Anyway just a though from seeing them briefly on card.
