Granted he is a new character but he is still Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern. It wouldn't be a story on yahoo if he was a completely new character. I totally get what you mean, Marvel made Sam Jackson as Nick Fury work so why not Alan Scott I guess. I am just totally biased against the NuDC, the whole thing feels like Marvel's New Universe attempt. Might have had some great people work on it and some cool concepts and characters but never really felt like home.
