I agree with you guys on grading. Currently, there are 3 graded comics in my collection (2 from PGX 1 from CGC). A couple of years back, I wanted to get a few graded to see what the process was like, and I had an extra Uncanny X-men 266 that I wanted to sell. After that, I acquired an silver age Uncanny that was graded.

My personal feeling is that grading is great for two things: Independent verification of quality when selling online. And, tracking how rare something really is. For the latter, how many times have you heard: You won't find one in better condition for the price! Well, thanks to the grading companies tracking that info, you can cal bullshit on it. All that said, it should only (all things being equal) raise the price by the cost of grading. The only time something should bring a real premium is if you can prove, through tracking, that your item is only one of a few known high grade copies. I'm sorry, I can find 9.0+ Spawn #1s in quarter bins all day long....

I don't ever get anything graded but I think grading is ok. Basically it's a service and you don't have to get it if you don't want it. It does cost a good amount to get things graded tho and it's a nice protective case for whatever so I can see why the item goes up in value if its a good grade

Another great episode guys. Chuck it was great seeing you and Nick at Mid-Ohio. I also feel like we didn't get to talk or walk around the con too much, but it was slightly crazy that day. Also what do you think everyone would think with 3 guys all wearing the same Star Joes shirts!!! We definitely would have gotten some looks... lol. I did get a lot of questions and compliments on the shirt at Cincinnati Comic Expo and at Mid Ohio, hopefully you guys get a few more listeners from it.

I am very close to preordering Castle Greyskull. I really REALLY want it, but it's hard for me to pull the trigger at $250. I agree with Ryan that it's crap that we have to preorder something sight unseen, but Chuck makes a point that the 4 Horsemen haven't done anything bad.
