Alright im back and in full X force so all new X-Men i dont know about anyone else but this run of X-Men has me foaming at the mouth with anticipation I can honestly say it mirrors what I was feeling when Uncanny X-Force first came out not only that but this is dealing with all the core things that make X-Men well X-Men you have all the characters that have become populer over the years lets put it another way the stage is set all the actors are on set and now we get to watch it play out I think Bendis is crafting truly a tale of X-Men that well not only expand its lore but it will be a story years after I am gone that will still hold up. The X titles finally seem to be going in synch with one another which has been missing for quite some time but not in a tie in way but in a way that connects characters and whats going on the best examples I can give are Angel, and Evan the only gripe I have is WATX at the moment the circus act (I know callback to Claremont) but for me it just lasted way too many issues with whats been going on they could of wrap that up in two. Hopefully the following will fall more in line with whats been transpiring. As for the stories and X-books themselves you can see a lot of inspiration just from the late 80s and early 90s taking place. 2 separate teams Scott leading one and the other a mix of Logan/Storm/and Kitty. Cable coming back in full force fashion with a title of his own mirrors when they first launched X Force with him and his team. I can't put my finger on it but they are just hitting all the right keys at the moment. All right if I lost you sorry rambling must be a secondary mutation or is it a third I can never keep track especially when Grant is around do me a favor and keep him at DC or at the very least dont have him come near any X-titles in the near future.
Alright enought praise and bash for one post onto the latest I really dug even though the artist got switched for these next few weeks the art was similier enough where it did'nt pull me out of the story that we have been reading for the last 5 issue's at the same time I was impressed with what was brought to the table kudos to the artist. Onto the story and characters themselves so lets get the big two out of the way Cyclops and Wolverine seeing as it revolved around these two. THe way that is being handled I think is the correct way. The hate between these two has been brewing for years now thats not to say they dont work well together and can be part of a team but the underlining hate will always be there. Since schism happened their relationship has esculated. You already have 2 personalities that clash like water on rocks. A 3 way love triangle that in some intances will never be resolved. A loner that found a team that he can call home, a leader who lost his way and is doing everything in his power to stay in charge. Betrayel on both sides, friends and loved ones lost on both sides. Enemies slaughtered for the greater good and dream, the teams splintering and tearing at the seams, humans more afraid than ever, and the loss of Xavier. Now speed up to where we are now no matter how much we change and grow a person will still show traits of what made that person in the first place so. Now the last time Logan and Scott had talked he was still behind bars. Since then with Beast hair brain scheme he brings O-5 to the present and I dont care about how old they are (its the 60's x-men in my mind) Now with Young Scott showing up on the scene. Even though Young Scott has never laid eyes on any of his current surrounding you would get the feeling that these two would not get along (Say you start a new job or join a team always going to be someone that instantly you know your not going to get along with that person) and thats what we have here only diffrence is Logan knows who Scott is and what he has done. The thing is Wolverine will make those hard choices that no one else will and if he sees an oppertunity he will strike. So I did'nt find the scene out of the ordinary when he gestures to pop his claws into cykes neck (I would have had all the on lookers separate them in a toned down non leathel fight) So already you have young Scott getting judged as soon as this world is opened up to him you have jean who because of the time jump ignited her telepath powers to the point where she sees her life and what has gone on causing her a distance from young Scott and then choosing to stay so already Scott has lost his leadership role for things he will do but have already come to past. Leaving him a loner in the sense in a time where I dont think he fully comprehends just what he has done or what is in store. So with all this going on he splits on wolverines cycle no less and why not (in X TAS logan gets pissed and turns cyclops car into a convertable, hot wires and borrows Scotts car in X-2) I think them fucking with each others vehicles is just one of those classic riverly tales I enjoy it. Then Young Scott inquires about random everyday occurance's that we take for granted for intances bottled water who he himself I dont think he quite grasps that he has become at least in the worlds view enemy #1 and now here comes Logan to throw that in your face and knowing at this point what he knows attacks Wolverine from his pov all he really wants to do is make this right and go back to his own time. What will happen between these two is a tale thats old as time itself but what story that is remains to be seen we know Beast brought young Scott to try to reason with Cyclops of now. But what if a mutant civil war is on the horizen maybe Young Scott will be influnced by the man he has yet to become. With Wolverine he lost not only a mentor and a friend but a person who taught him that he isn't just a wild animal that needs to be put down but a Man that has been through more than one lifetime of harsh cruel reality. Even though we only see glimpses of it Wolverine at some point will avenge or at least have closeure for losing that which helped him be the person he is today. And with Jean back a soap opera could'nt match this level of drama.
Ah yes Jean Grey if you've seen some of my other posts then you know if Wolverine and Cyclops are my meat and potatoes then Jean is my dessart and let me say after some years its too sweet seeing her in an active role again. So kitty has taken upon herself to show the O-5 the ropes as it were filling that void for the time being that Xavier once held and even though her powers can't help in this situation her surviving many experiences leaves her with an understanding and an undertaking that will not go unnotice shaping and influencing who Jean herself might become. With so many variables attached to a story like this I hope the path is seen in the distance and we dont as readers get pulled onto too many side roads.
Oh my stars and garters Beast is back in full form (lets hope other artist get it hinty hint hint) im curious more than ever for our big blue friend and if consequences are in store for someone who was only trying to make things better it seems a running theme since a little before AVX that even in the end if your choices were noble ones does it make it right and will the actions justify the means.
sheesh glad I got that off my chest alright finally just want hit on a couple of things for fun
1. Did anyone spend some time matching Jeans telepathy with the correct (or at least you think correct) characters
2.Is the future bright or is darkness looming
3.With the new all female led X team will this make room for another X book in the future im thinking a charlies angel rip off with Logan, Kitty, Jubllee and Ide (lulz)
If your still reading this you might be an X-Fan
The only thing I have left to say is it Wednesday yet?
