Official College Football Thread

Postby RedRight88 » Mon Jul 26, 2010 4:18 pm

As of this posting the season is 38 days away. Obviously, there has been a lot of wackiness that past few weeks involving agents and players. But, there is still much to look forward to like:

1. Can Alabama repeat
2. Will Boise State, Utah, or TCU be in the BCS championship game.
3. Can Florida adjust to life without Tebow
4. Who will win the Heisman

What are you looking forward to?

I am a Colorado and Penn St. fan. Had relatives in Colorado that always sent me Buffs stuff when I was a kid. I coached HS Football for 10 years and we had a player get a full ride to Penn State, so I started following them too. (He's on the Patriots now)

I love to watch College football, but I'm not as hardcore about one team as I am in MLB or NFL.

Oregon State Beavers are my team! Hopefully we can beat up USC again. And with the Rogers bro back in action, should make for another fun yr in the soon to be Pac 12.

Well, it appears that troubled QB Jeremiah Masoli will be playing for Ole Miss. Unless he gets the urge to break and enter again.

My interests this season include

1. What the Pac-10 will call themselves with 12 member schools

2. How the Big 12 can justify that name having only 10 member schools

3. What is the Big 10 to do now with 12 member schools

additionally how many other large, premier programs can the NCAA investigate this calendar year.

The PAC-10 is going to become the PAC-12. The other two will go on as usual.

Right now ESPN.com is doing a countdown of the 50 most painful college football losses.

Looks like BYU is going to leave the Mountain West and become an independent.

Another season, another year for Boston College to play down to crappy teams, upset some half decent teams, and then lose to Virginia Tech in the ACC championship and take another trip to the Meineke Car Care/Champs Sports/MPC computer Toilet Bowl. That's what happens when your Alma Mater puts academics before Athletics, and your recruiting sucks(Talk about milking the Flutie to Phelan Hail Mary for almost 3 decades). Hey, come play for BC, maybe, just maybe you can be the next Doug Flutie or Matt Ryan!

Minnesota vs. Middle Tennessee St.

USC vs. Hawaii

Northern Illinois vs. Iowa St.

I am just looking forward to seeing Louisville play UK this weekend. This is a big rivalry in Kentucky and Louisville (my team) has a new coach. Lets see what they can do.
