I have not kept up with the news. I honestly haven't played either my XBox360 or PS3 in many months. I just have so much other stuff going on that I haven't had an hour or more to just play a game. I got the Knights of the Old Republic game for iPad and only played it the one time. Finding a chunk of time these days to just play a game just doesn't happen anymore.
I really don't like what you're saying about the XBox1. Checking into a game or system every 24 hours???Are you kidding me? I don't like it always being on also. Feels very big brother is watching you. I like the Kinect in general but not to have on all the time. I really don't like the idea of not being able to share games or bringing a game to a friends house. Are we getting so much to the point with virtual worlds now that we're encouraging people to not interact in person at all? One of the fun things as a kid and a great marketing thing was playing a game at a friend's house or borrowing a game. I bought many games in my past because I played it at a friend's house or because I borrowed it and loved playing it enough to buy it.
This all sounds like a money play and I think I've found my time to get out of the gaming world. I never thought I would be the "old guy" who didn't play video games, but these days I would rather read a comic, play on my iPad a quick game, or do other activities (I've started exercising again this summer because I put some of my previous weight back on, I've started writing again finally, and I'm trying to catch up on things for the show and website). I would rather these days spend my time doing that than playing a game 3 hours a day every day, which is what my life used to be like.
I can still get the fun of the stories through people making video movies from the games and posting them on Youtube. I watched Transformers: War For Cybertron this weekend. Someone made a 2 hour movie out of it. It was fun to watch and made me think of something I might do for the show audio wise with it. I'm going to check out more games that this has been done with so I can still enjoy these rich stories that have been created.
