Wow. I was just considering starting a thread like this. I totally forgot we already had one.
I was "only" about 250 at my heaviest, but 1.5 years ago I got down to 216 doing Weight Watchers for Men online. It worked really well for me. I got to the point I thought I could continue to my goal without paying the monthly membership, and use my own tools to track what I ate. I was wrong.
I didn't realize just how wrong until about two months ago. Sure some clothes were a little tighter, a pair of pants didn't quite button right, things like that. We went to see Spamalot, and I bought a T-Shirt. I bought XL, thinking it would be fine. The next day I put it on. I was NOT happy with what I saw. I took a really good look at myself and couldn't believe what I did. It turns out I was back above 250, and it was a shock to me.
So I rejoined Weight Watchers online immediately. 7 weeks later I'm down to about 236 and falling. I'm eating the same things, just less of it. I'm slowly adding exercise to my week, specifically "Couch to 5K" or C25K (
http://www.c25k.com/). Clothes are fitting better and I have more energy. I'm looking forward to getting down to 216, and then my overall goal of 185.
I'll try to post here more often. Thanks for the reminder.
