Yogurt! I Hate Yogurt! Even With Strawberries!
"I believe in Rock And Roll!"

"The Gods you worship are steel,
At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel.
A slave who forever rocks,
Is chained in the devil's locks,
And slain by the bloody axe I wail!"

Ok, I hit a road block. My new meds are making me gain weight! I have gained 5 pounds over the last week.

I just gave up on my diet for the last couple months. I'm finally back on the bandwagon this week, and sticking to 1600 calories a day, and trying to limit sugar to 160 calories a day. I also want to start exercising again.

ok so I am bring this back. I need to lose some weight. The problem I always had is when ever I tied to eat better and eat less I was starving. I talked to my cousin who is studying to be a dietician. And because of her help for the last 2 weeks I have been eating healthy and have not been starving. She told me I wasn't eating enough. First time in my life I was told that.

Wow. I was just considering starting a thread like this. I totally forgot we already had one.

I was "only" about 250 at my heaviest, but 1.5 years ago I got down to 216 doing Weight Watchers for Men online. It worked really well for me. I got to the point I thought I could continue to my goal without paying the monthly membership, and use my own tools to track what I ate. I was wrong.

I didn't realize just how wrong until about two months ago. Sure some clothes were a little tighter, a pair of pants didn't quite button right, things like that. We went to see Spamalot, and I bought a T-Shirt. I bought XL, thinking it would be fine. The next day I put it on. I was NOT happy with what I saw. I took a really good look at myself and couldn't believe what I did. It turns out I was back above 250, and it was a shock to me.

So I rejoined Weight Watchers online immediately. 7 weeks later I'm down to about 236 and falling. I'm eating the same things, just less of it. I'm slowly adding exercise to my week, specifically "Couch to 5K" or C25K (http://www.c25k.com/). Clothes are fitting better and I have more energy. I'm looking forward to getting down to 216, and then my overall goal of 185.

I'll try to post here more often. Thanks for the reminder.

Interesting I didn't remember this either. Glad to see your doing so well Ken - I have had some success with Weight Watchers in the past. I'm an ex-swimmer/track & cross country runner who hasn't done much in about 10 years. It use to be incredibly easy for me to eat whatever I wanted and still stay around 150-160. Well about 10 years ago after high school I kept eating the same way I always did and stopped working out. I am not sure what my heaviest has been but after a couple false starts I really got back into working out pretty hardcore about 6 weeks ago. So far I have shed about 16 pounds and just got under 200 for the first time in a long time. I am doing this with a very though out strict diet and I am basically using the principles that I learned from my experience from weight watchers/ my wife's experience with weight watchers. I also have been running sporadically and doing p90x which is a 3 month/6 day a week work out program that is pretty intense. Looking forward to running my first race in years in about 3 weeks. I will try to write out a typical menu of what I eat and post it up here later today.

Mixed feelings about my "official" weigh in this morning.

WI at 234.4 lbs. While that's down 1.6 lbs from last week, and after 3 weeks of either no change or going up 1 lbs, it's still frustrating. Sometimes I'll step on the scale during the week. Same time each day, first thing AM, for consistency's sake. Yesterday I was at 232.6, almost 2 lbs lighter that would have put my weekly loss to 3.4. I don't know if it was leftover pizza, or not as active as I could have been, or just my body holding on to water. Either way it was disappointing knowing where I could/should have been.

In the end, it's down. I should easily be able to get that 2 lbs back plus some for next week.

As a side note, I set up my personal website again, www.loganmacleod.com. I did it mainly to learn the new features of Joomla 1.6 before I use it on an actual production site, but I'm blogging there from time to time. Take a look if interested.

Struggling this week a bit - I have ate well and worked out like normal but the holiday weekend really did me in. Still hoping to have a good loss.

Well Since my last post I was doing really good up until yesterday- had a really good start to the day and then ended pretty crappy. Had a work event that was catered with really good but unhealthy food. Getting back on the wagon tonight. Anyone else having some success that i'm not having.

On another note signed up for a 5k that takes place next week. First race in a long long time.

Nice. Maybe I need to sign up for one, that will give me what I need to actually get out there.

I feel like I've stalled out. Again.

I find summer is the hardest time for me to watch what I eat but the best time for me to work out. All I want to do this time of year is grill out, drink beer and eat ice cream. Trying to limit those things to the weekend.

Ran a 5k this past weekend and did better than I expected. My goal was not to have any walkers in the race to pass me and to run the entire race without walking at all. Both goals were met and I wasn't even the last runner done. Ended up finishing in about 30 minutes which isn't fast but is by no means slow. Finished up feeling great and I am looking forward to my next race which may be as soon as two weeks.

Signed up for 5k number 2. I expect a much better time since I have been running a lot more regular. Looking forward to see the results!

Well its been a while since anyone posted how's it going? I've just become an affiliate of the Training For Warriors system (it's not as scary as its sounds) I would recommend it to anyone that needs a kick start and wants results, as it was designed for elite athletes it has a proven track record but can be tailored to anyone's needs

find it here www.trainingforwarriors.com

No activity since July. I'm hesitant to post, but I'm wondering if there's enough interest to get us accountable again. I know what I need to do, not 100% sure I can or, more accurately, want to.

Anyone out there?
