I have heard great things about Chronicle. I didn't go see it because it reminded me too much of a The Covenant feel, which wasn't horrible, but not something I cared to watch again. I'll have to check Chronicle out.

I agree that Amazing Spider-Man was WAY better than any of the Raimi ones and the casting was just great for every role.

I never saw the Covenant, but it does sound very, very similar.

I liked The Amazing Spider-Man very much. I don't know if I can put it over the first two Raimi movies, but its right there with them. I liked Raimi's cast, but Amazing's cast is even better. However, there were a couple of things with Amazing that I didn't like, and the way they handled some things wasn't as strong as it could be. But its still a very good movie.

I really liked Chronicle. Maybe it moves a little slowly at times, and I thought that they were going to get into their climatic moment sooner, but I enjoyed the movie.

A few more movies I've watched on Netflix over the last few days:

Division III: Bad, but it's got Alison Haislip who used to work for G4, so I watched the whole thing. Andy Dick is a football coach that's hired to save a D-III team...it's about what you would imagine.

Ronin: How had I not seen this before? Great stuff from DeNiro and the car chases are amazing.

Swingers: This should also be on my honorable mention list of favorite movies. I can remember it took months to see this after it'd come out on VHS as it was always rented out at every store near me in grad school. The big reason this movie resonates for me even now is that my roommate in undergrad WAS Double Down (Vince Vaughn), trying to bag every woman he met. That, and Heather Graham was just too cute back then. Great, great stuff.

Not really a movie, but "Classic Albums - Rush 2112/Moving Pictures" breaks down the production of these albums. I love when they isolate the individual tracks, those guys are all insanely talented musicians.

Chuck and I were talking about old fantasy genre movies that we watched when we were a kid (we were talking about the Hobbit movie coming out in the Fall, which made us talk about the cartoon we watched as a kid many times). We mentioned how some movies just don't hold up well today, but we still like them because of the nostalgia of it.

One of those for me that he had never heard of was the movie Krull. I must have seen that movie like 20 times as a kid and loved watching it. I have not seen it since I was a kid, but knowing what I saw back then, I'm sure it does not hold up well because I'm pretty sure it was bad back then. But for some reason I loved watching it. Does anyone else remember this movie and remember liking it when you were younger? Is it worth watching again now or is it REALLY bad?

A giant cyclops that sacrifices himself, a kick ass boomerang ninja star, horses that leave fire trails and qui-gon jin is in it. It holds up ok for cheesy 80s movies and if you've never seen it you should :)

Saw Krull a few years ago and I kinda wish I didn't. Somethings I should just keep in my childhood.

More Netflix viewing today:

Goon: Not to be confused with "The Goon," this movie was GREAT! Probably the best film Sean William Scott's ever made. Fun hockey movie about a bouncer that gets picked up by a hockey team to be a goon.

Killer Elite: Also great! Jason Statham and DeNiro as killers for hire, how can you go wrong?

Tank: I don't know how I didn't see this movie as a kid, if I did I couldn't remember it at all. James Garner is an Army officer that seeks revenge on a small town sheriff with his Sherman tank...you can't make this stuff up. Jenilee Harrison of "Three's Company" fame is the town whore, and she is HOT in this. Good stuff.

Beer: Another 80s nugget, a satire on the advertising business and beer commericals in particular.
