RPGs, Board Games, Etc?

Postby FleaBeard » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:23 am

Anyone else into non-video games? Although I do play video games as well, I've always had just as much love for more traditional types of games.

I played D&D and a host of other table top RPGs when I was young and started back up about 2 years ago with a group of friends. Any week that we can't get the whole group together, we find other games to play like Munchkin, Settlers of Catan, or even old school board games.

The level of social interaction with a table top game just can't be beat. I'm a true techie, so I'm definitely not bashing video games or online play, just wanted to see if anyone else out there shared the love.

I GM a DC heroes game that Dean's in as well. We're playing through email, so it's going a little slow right now.

I've never played any games via email. I'm intrigued by some of the folks that are using Google Wave, Open Game Table and Skype for playing.

Some of my favorite childhood memories were playing D&D with my friends. We played it until Star Frontiers (early 80's TSR) came out and then Star Trek the Roleplaying Game. We were always more Scifi geeks than Fantasy. I truly wish we had never given it up. Ah memories!

Here's the deal guys: The current email game I got running might be put on hold. One of the players might be too busy to play. If that's the case, I might be down to do something with you guys. Could we do the DC Heroes/Blood of Heroes ruleset, if this happens?

Heck, it'd be pretty awesome if we played using the forum! Then everyone could watch!

I've never played that ruleset, but I'd be happy to learn.

Whatever you think is best with rules is cool by me.

I think I would like original characters in a super hero setting, but I'm flexible.
